Iowans for Adoption proudly hosts two adoption events every year. This includes the IFA annual Gala and the Gingerbread Run/Walk for Adoption. These events are always a highlight to our organization because we are helping Iowans become educated about adoption/foster care, awarding companies that provide adoption benefits to families and providing opportunities for adoptive families and birth parents to celebrate adoption in Iowa. See the events below for more details! If you would like to volunteer for either of these events, please send us an email at email@example.com. Thank you for your help!
The fourth annual IFA Gala will take place on Friday, June 12. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. The Gala will include a buffet dinner, a silent auction and a cash bar. Our keynote speaker will be former Iowa Governor and former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack. Vilsack was born in a Roman Catholic orphanage in Pennsylvania, where his 23-year-old birth mother had lived. He was adopted in 1951 by Bud and Dolly Vilsack. All proceeds will go toward educating individuals about all facets of adoption via public service announcements, ads, brochures and speaking engagements. Stay tuned for more details and a link to purchase tickets.
Our 2019 opening keynote, Renee Hardman, discusses the power of adoption to IFA attendees.
Gingerbread Run/Walk for Adoption
The Gingerbread Run/Walk for Adoption is a staple of Iowans for Adoption. Held in the fall, the run is a great way for Iowans to celebrate youth and families who have been impacted by adoption. Stay tuned on details for our 2020 Gingerbread Run/Walk!
